The MACC Fund strives to fill the holiday's with with great spirit and warm cheer. With that in mind, we have yet another way to help celebrate the Christmas season!
Every year we choose a child diagnosed with cancer to design a porcelain ornament for the holiday season. This year, the 22nd Annual TODAY TMJ4 MACC Star was created by 9 year-old Noah Polzin from Waukesha, Wis. Noah is a fourth grader from Elm Grove Lutheran School and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2007. The good news is that he is doing very well in his maintenance chemotherapy.
Noah designed his MACC Star using his love for penguins as the center of his artwork. There are several surrounding pictures including piano keys, a heart, a nutcracker and an igloo on the star that each represents something different about Noah’s life.
Each year we are impressed with the unique designs we get for our ornaments and yet again we are thrilled with this year's ornament. Like all the others, Noah's ornament holds a special meaning and story behind his star's design. Noah gives us the inside scoop of the meaning behind his star's design which reveals a lot about himself. Like many kids, he is full of life and has many passions and talents.
The 2009 TODAYS TMJ4 MACC Star can be found at Quality Candy Stores, Buddy Squirrel Nut Shoppes and Balistreri’s Sendik’s Markets for $10. They are also available online at www.maccfund.org. It adds a special touch to the Christmas tree.
This is just one more way we are trying to show support and help those children suffering from cancer and related blood diseases. It's a fight we are not giving up!
